Records indicate concerns over “Gain of Function” research

(Washington D.C.) Judicial Watch successfully obtained 1,651 pages of records from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that reveal an FBI inquiry into the NIH’s bat coronavirus grant tied to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Through various FOIA requests and lawsuits, Judicial Watch uncovered information relating to Covid 19 issues:

  • May 2022: A former director of the Galveston National Laboratory warned Chinese researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology of potential investigations into the COVID situation by Congress.
  • May of 2022: Biodistribution studies and related date for COVID-19 vaccines showing that lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), a key component of the vaccines developed by Pfizer/BioNTech were found outside the site of injection, mainly the liver, adrenal glands, spleen and ovaries of test animals between 8 and 48 hours after injection.
  • April 2022: Federal Select Agent Project (FSAP) records reveal violations and safety hazards at U.S. biosafety laboratories that conduct research dangerous agents and toxins.
  • March 2022: Emails between former director Francis Collins at National Institues of Health (NIH) and Anthony Faucci, director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), about hydroxychloroquine and COVID-19.
  • March 2021: HHA records reveal NIH officials modified confidentiality forms to China’s terms that the World Health Organization (WHO) conducted an unreleased COVID-19 epidemiological analysis in January 2020.
  • October 2020: Anthony Faucci writes his approval of a press release showing support of China’s response to the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton responded to the new information saying “Any FBI inquiry would be appropriate as these documents, extracted by Judicial Watch after years of stonewalling, also show that Fauci’s agency knew and should have known, going back to 2016, that it funded dangerous and prohibited gain-of-function research in China”.
